How to Hold the Violin

First, get a shoulder rest - Highly recommended!

Attach the shoulder rest to the violin as shown below:

View from Above (notice where the thumb is positioned)



View from the Front (notice that your wrist is straight)



View from Behind (notice your thumb and wrist)
